At first glance, the figures standing together might have been overlooked and mistaken as one rather than two. On second glance, one might see a mare apparently standing alone. It would take a third glance to see the colt that huddled at her side.
Though the sun managed to break through on occasion, the day was overall cloudy and rather dismal. Certainly not promising for Arianrhod and her son. Still, better this land than that which they had left. At least, hopefully this place would be better. There really was no telling; hope was the only alternative.
Arian tossed her head slightly in an attempt to get her damp forelock out of her eyes. A quiet whimper sounded from Jubal and she turned and nuzzled him reassuringly.
The colt was the only one who ever saw emotion from his Thoroughbred dam. Time and experience had taught her that emotions were dangerous things that could easily be used against her. Still, she could not help revealing those emotions to the little colt at her side. She loved him deeply, more than her own life. The mare would far rather die than ever see him come to harm.

Lazuli picked his way over the blooming meadow towards the equine that stood amongst the young shoots of grass and partial blossoms. He hesitated when he saw the figure seperate, realizing that the mare already had a foal. So the mare already had a young one, eh?
Still, he needed mares for a harem, foals or no. Unlike his ruthless ancestors, the darks, he didn't plan to kill the foal, although it was common practice amongst equines to murder the offspring of another stallion. A powerful colt growing up in Lazuli's ways might come in handy some day.
Afternoon, lady. Might I introduce myself as Lazuli. And your name?
OOC: I'll only take one character of yours. It's too confusing if you're in the same herd.

Amamizu had wandered into the fields, unknowing as always. Oooooo, what was this place? Why was it so big? Was it acctually small? Was she the only green person here? The sunlight slightly jumbled her sight, but she saw three black figures. Squinting to get a better look, Mizu began to wander torwards the three.
About two mintues later, she finally found out what the things were: other horses. A big one, a little one, and........hey! That one was the same color as her! She trotted over, and before anyone could say anything, she exclaimed,"Hey! You're green, too!"
Grinning from ear to ear, she tilted her head to one side, like a puppy that heard a noise it hadn't heard before, and waiting for a response.

Arian raised her head swiftly at the sound of another equine's approach. When she saw the blue roan stud, she tensed imperceptibly. While her intention was to get into a herd, she realized now that it was possible that stallions would not wish her to have the foal of another stud already at her side. He sounded polite and kind enough, but the thoroughbred's experiences had taught her that such could easily be a facade. She would not be taken in so easily.
Her stance wary, the chestnut nodded her head in response to the stallion's greeting. 'Afternoon sir. I am Arianrhod. My son's name is Jubal.'
The colt had been dozing quietly, but raised his head at the sound of his name. Noticing another equine, he pressed himself close to his dam's side, nervous of the stranger.
Arian turned at the arrival of another equine. Her ears shifted between slightly back and pricked a little forward. She was uncertain of the situation, uncomfortable with uncertainty and had absolutely no idea what to make of the newest addition to the small group.
Jubal glanced curiously at the newcomer. Unable to keep quiet, he said, 'He not green! He blue!'
Arian was surprised by her son's sudden outburst, and a glance at him told her that he was equally as surprised as she. He pressed himself against her once more.

"He is? Oh, you're right! We are red, not green! My mistake!" Her grin became wider, and she began nodding, looking from the little one, to the red one, then to the big one, then to her back, noticing her color. "Oh, wait. I was wrong. I'm blue. Not sad, but blue. And he's blue, too! How silly of me!" Mizu was being the goofball she usually was. Acctually, she was overdoing herself, this time.

Shy as he usually was, Jubal was drawn from his shell by Mizu's silliness. 'You's not red or green!' he insisted. The colt couldn't help responding to her wide grin with one of his own. At the correction she made, he nodded. 'Dat's what I said. You's both blue!'
Though she smiled inwardly at the antics of both young equines, Arian's expression remained void of emotion.

"But that's what I just said! I said it, first!" Mizu replied, leaning down to Jubal's level. Deep inside, Mizu was still a little foal. Okay, so it wasn't /that/ deep inside. Or deep, at all.

To Arian's surprise, Jubal stomped one little hoof on the ground and shook his head. He was grinning in spite of his pretend show of anger, enjoying his debate with Mizu. 'Nu-uh. I say firs'. You say red an' green firs'.'
Unbidden, a very small smile began to turn the corners of Arian's lips upward in spite of her resolve to show no emotion. She could hardly help it, what with her colt enjoying his debate with Mizu so much.

"Nu-uh," Mizu retorted,"I said it first. You said blue first!" At this point, Mizu didn't even remember why they were arguing.

Jubal giggled. 'I know dat.' he responded a quick nod of his little head. 'I say blue firs'.' Changing topics suddenly, the colt said, 'I Jubal. What your name?'
Arian watched the exchange with quiet amusement, a rare hint of tenderness glimmering in her deep mahogany eyes when they rested on her colt. With Mizu's help, the little fellow was coming out of his shell. Arian had never seen her son speak for such an extended period of time around strangers. Usually, when there were other equines around, he would spend the entire time pressed close to her.

Mizu opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came to mind. What was her name again? Uhhh, urrrrrr, eehhhhhhh..............She didn't know. "Ummmmm, I think I forgot! Heh," she said, still thinking.

Another giggle escaped Jubal at the young mare's response. While Mizu thought of what her name might be, the colt nodded to his mother. 'This is Momma.' he introduced her.
Arian suppressed a quiet chuckle at the "name" her son had introduced her as. 'I would prefer you call me Arian.' she added.
Jubal was silent for a moment, then asked, 'Has you amembered your's name yet?'

OOC: I'm confused... there's one mare and two foals here?
Awkwardly, the stag snickered at the plight of the two youngsters.
Arian it is then. I am Lazuli, and yes... I'm blue. Blue roan, thank you. You've got your hooves full, here, eh?

OhOhSee;; No, two mares and a foal. Mizu's just insane and like a foal.
BIC;; "AHA! So, you are blue!" Mizu exclaimed to Lazuli, then she she started babbling some random thing before stopping again and thinking hard. "Oh yeah! My name's Mizu!" She grinned.

Arian nodded slightly at the stud's words. Though her smile remained, there was still a hint of cautious wariness in her eyes. She'd seen and experienced far too much to allow herself to relax entirely in a stranger's company.
'A pleasure to meet you Lazuli.' she responded, her tone soft.
Jubal listened to Mizu's random babbling for a time, his ears pricked with interest. He returned her grin with one of his own. Well trained in courtesy by his dam, he performed a semi-elegant bow. 'P'easure t'meetcha Mizu.'
