Please read the rules before you apply to the site. I know it's a lot, but most of it is explanations of how the site works.
BASIC RULES
1. No fighting OOC.
2. Respect the other members and guests.
3. You must wait to be accepted by one admin before you can post on any IC boards.
4. You can have as many characters as you'd like on each account, but be sure to keep each of them active.
5. Activity checks will be held occasionally, and anyone who does not respond will be deleted, unless they've notified us that they will be gone.
6. On that note, please be sure to post on the Absence board when you won't be here for one week or up. No need to tell us if you're going on a one-day trip.
7. Don't go overboard with swearing. A little is allowed, but keep it under control.
8. The secret word to enter the application area is beaglepuppy
9. Respect the staff. If a staff member tells you something, don't argue. If you have a complaint, feel free to PM me (Meg). I'll try to be as fair as possible.
10. Oh, yes, almost forgot: NO POWER-PLAYING OR GOD-MODING.
11. The war, right now, is just hostility and the occasional small fight. Until the site gets going, this is how it will be. Once we get a few members, then the war will really begin.
STALLION RULES
1. You may claim mares, foals, and lands.
2. You may challenge and fight for mares, foals, positions in the herds/alliances, and lands. You may also steal mares and foals.
3. You may only claim/fight/steal a mare or foal if you're a lead.
4. You may either breed with a mare's permission, or by force-breeding (see below).
5. You may not be forced to join a herd, but you may elect to.
6. A colt becomes a stallion at the age of three.
MARE RULES
1. You may only claim territories.
2. You may challenge and fight for a position in the herds/alliances or for a territory.
3. If you challenge a stallion's mate, he has the right to refuse the challenge; for example, if you challenge the lead mare, the lead stallion may refuse the challenge. This is allowed once before the challenge must be taken.
4. You may either give a stallion permission to breed you, or if you're caught in the breeding grounds, may be force-bred.
5. You may either elect to join a herd, or may be forced to.
6. A filly becomes a mare at the age of three.
BREEDING/FOAL RULES
1. You may only breed in the breeding grounds. Either breed with the mare's permission, or force-breed a mare found in the breeding grounds.
2. To breed, go to the breeding grounds and post your stats; that is, the name, breed, height, and color of your horse.
3. If you're going to be graphic, post a warning in the title. Failure to do this will result in consequences.
4. Once the stats have been posted, your mare is considered pregnant for two weeks. After that time, the mare may go to the birthing grounds.
5. An admin chooses how the birthing goes. Taken into consideration is the mare's activities during the pregnancy and your activeness on the site. For example, if a mare gets into a fight while she is pregnant, she is likely to have an unhealthy foal or even a stillborn. The admin will also post the foal's stats; the breed, height, and color only. Name and personality are up to the parents.
6. A mare can either have a single birth, twins, or a stillborn. Foals may also be unhealthy, and a twin birth may have one dead. A single birth is most likely; twins are more rare, and two healthy ones are very rare; a stillborn will be extremely rare.
7. The mare's player will play the foal. If that person doesn't want to, either the stallion's player can take it, or another player can offer.
8. There's no set time for how long a foal remains with the mare; please wait at least two weeks for the foal to be considered "grown," but you can keep the foal a foal as long as you'd like. When the foal leaves the mother, it goes to another herd, either as a Neutral or in the same alliance. It's rare that a Dark goes to Light, or vice versa, and they may not be accepted.
9. Mares who go to the breeding grounds alone can be force-bred, and any force-bred mare goes to the herd of the stallion that bred her. Her stallion can fight for her if he wishes to. A mare can try to fight the stallion off, but it's unlikely it will work.
10. If a mare is there alone waiting for her stallion, she can still be force-bred; however, if her stallion shows up, he can protect her and drive the other stallion off. Also, you can only try this after three real-life days without the stallion's posting.
CHALLENGE/FIGHTING/STEALING RULES
1. All fights take place in the fighting grounds, but challenges can be made anywhere.
2. Stallions fight stallions and mares fight mares. Mares will not fight stallions. Also, Darks fight with Darks, Lights with Lights, and Neutrals with Neutrals.
3. The challenger attacks first. After that, the other horse fights back. Each horse is given five posts, after which an admin will judge the fight and declare the winner.
4. The winner is determined by each player's activeness on the site and the quality of the posts. Power-playing and god-moding will probably mean you lose the fight. Getting hit is encouraged; dodging every attack does not mean you win, and will probably be marked against you.
5. If a horse refuses a challenge, it is an automatic forfeit of the item in question. The only refusals may be made if a stallion refuses a challenge to his mate for her position. After the second refusal, it is considered a forfeit.
6. You may only make a challenge once a week. After the fight, wait a week, then you may challenge again.
7. Don't complain if you lose. If you feel the need to complain, PM me (Meg). Of course, if it was a fair fight and you lost fairly, I will not change anything.
8. You may NOT challenge the Lord or Lady of the Darks, Lights, or Neutrals. This may change later, but for now, this is how it is.
9. You have two weeks to respond to a challenge before the challenger is declared the winner.
