"Hi, Daddy!" Esperenza replied, laying down. She was tired after her long few minutes of walking and standing and talking. Yawning, she nestled down and drifted off to sleep.

"Oh, Lacrymosa. You charmer," Bella blushed. Sometimes her Lord was just so sweet. It ran in the Dark's blood. Well...sort of. The emotions ran in the Dark's blood. At the fly, Bella grimaced slightly, but quickly changed it to a smile for the filly.
When Esperanza layed down to sleep, Bella dropped her voice to a whisper. "She is beautiful, isn't she." More of a statement than a question. Her gaze went from the filly to Lacrymosa. "Her strong build must come from you."
Bella nuzzled her Lord caringly. Their filly was perfect.
"I'll be right back; I need to eat so Esperanza can, too." The mare smiled. "I'll be back soon." Bella slid out from the tall reeds and trotted about 40 feet from the nest. She didn't want to be too far away, but the grass was fresher here.
She dipped her head and pulled up a mouthful of grass, chewing it into a pulp and swallowing. The mare grabbed another mouthful, trying to fulfill her hunger for the filly.

"Charmer?" Lacrymosa questioned, his ears moving in Bella's direction and a grin crossing his face. "I'll admit, I may be, but that doesn't make my comments any less true. The most harsh, sarcastic Light could not deny you are beautiful."
He smiled down at the little filly as she went to sleep. His voice dropped as well as he spoke, unwilling to wake the tiny equine. "She really is." He replied simply, smiling at the sleeping form. Esperanza. The scene was still unreal, still amazing. "Her coloring and her eyes are yours, though." He looked from Esperanza to Bella happily, noting the many similarities between the two. If he was to compare himself to her, he was sure he would find a few likenesses...but for now, he was content to imagine Esperanza as she would be when she was grown, nearly identical to her lovely mother.
Lacrymosa returned the nuzzle with affection, enjoying this moment.
"Take your time eating," the stallion said softly. "Until you're full, I can take care of Esperanza. Just be sure that you're taken care of..." He smiled gently, nuzzling Bella again before she left.
His ears strained towards the spot where she had left, listening to her hoofbeats until they stopped. At that point, he looked back towards the filly once more, still smiling, but alert and listening to his surroundings.

After a few minutes, the mare was done feeding and full. Esperanza would probably wake up soon and need milk, so Bella trotted back to the nest. She poked her head in and smiled at the sight of Lacrymosa and the sleeping filly.
Moving slowly, so as not to make the reed rattle and awaken their foal, Bella walked into the nest. She let a small nod as a greeting to her Lord, and then a nuzzle of affection. The mare let her head rest upon her Lord's shoulder as she stared at Esperanza. How beautiful the filly was.
She would be the type of leader that was strong, demanding of respect, and radient when she grew up. Bella could just sense it. And that was good. That's how a Lord or Lady needed to be. They especially needed to be strong physically and mentally. Mostly during times like these.
Now Bella's doubts came back. What if the war was still raging by the time Esperanza took over the Darks? What if...oh no. What a terrible thought! What if they lost the war? Oh, that would just be horrible. Though Bella doubted that could happen.
At the moment, these were neutral times. There was no fighting. But there would be again, and very soon. Bella just knew it. Besides, the Lights could not be trusted. They could attack unexpectedly; and Esperanza needed to be ready. That's why in about two months she needed to start training. Usually a foal didn't start practicing their real fighting skills until they were about a year old. But Esperanza would need to be rushed.
Battle would come soon...

The little filly was quickly gaining consciousness, and soon, one eyes opened, slowly, before the other followed. She yawned and stood, then walked over to her mother,"Momma, I'm hungry."

Bella smiled.
"Well that was inevitable," she said to Lacrymosa. The mare took a step closer toward Esperanza. To an outside horse, the height difference would be astounding. But to a family and one who knew that foals were smaller than full grown horses, it didn't matter.
"Drink to your fill, little one. You need your strength." Bella pulled her filly just a tad bit closer with a push of her large muzzle.

Esperenza smiled, and drank her fill. When she was done, she laid down and went back to sleep. Babies slept, ate, and cried a lot. It's a well-known fact.

Bella smiled at her foal. How beautiful. Her smile grew as the filly lay down to sleep. These were the moments Lacrymosa and herself would cherish forever.

Lacrymosa returned the affectionate nuzzle as Bella returned, curling his neck around to gently groom her withers as she rested her head on his shoulder.
He smiled as he watched Esperanza nurse, still standing in the same position he had been when Bella first left to eat. He was, however, slightly less watchful, although any small movement outside of the little clearing sent his ears flicking in that direction.
He sighed contentedly, smiling a little as he watched the little filly sleep again. He took a few steps towards Bella, touching her shoulder lightly with his muzzle. "You two are really the most amazing sight I've ever seen," he murmured.

Bella smiled at Lacrymosa, then returned her gaze to their beautiful filly. She shifted her weight slightly to stand more comfortably, and swished her tail lightly against Lacrymosa's rump.
"You really think so?" she asked. Bella suddenly stood up tall, ears pricked as she heard a large rustle in the reeds. She tilted her head. What could be out here to attack them? The list of predators raced through her mind, yet she couldn't pinpoint one that would be out here. Maybe it was just another mare going to her own nest...
But Bella couldn't think of any other Darks who were pregnant. Of course, she also didn't know who was pregnant in the Lights or Nuetrals...Oh who knew?
"Maybe we should go to the beach." Bella moved closer to Esperanza and nudged her awake. "Come on, we're going to the beach, it's beautiful there."

Okay, umm I'll post in the Beach and then Mar-Chan, you can post there right after me if that's okay. I hope that doesn't sound bossy, lol. But...Yeah...heh.
