The blue stag lovingly accompanied his queen in their return to the realm. Nuzzling her upon their return, he took a few steps and collapsed, proceeding to roll in the dust. He reflected on the fact that all too soon Irezu wouldn't be able to do this herself for the burden the mustang had put upon her. Concerned, he pulled up and came to her.
Forgive me, my queen... I've put such a weight on you. Both last night and for such a long time to come, it seems. I fear I might've hurt you, or taken from you your freedom, one.
He nuzzled her again, pulling away.

Irezu was lost in pleasant reverie as she and her lord made their way back to the terra they ruled. Weariness leadened her limbs, while her neck and tail drooped a little, but she felt gloriously happy in spite of her weariness.
The chestnut Arab watched as Lazuli rolled in the dust, but made no move to do the same. She dozed a little as the light of the sunrise began to strengthen. It seemed strange to realize that day was upon them. The night seemed to have passed so swiftly.
The Arab fae was roused by Lazuli's approach. Irezu lightly rested her head across the blue stag's shoulders as she gently reassured him.
'You did not harm me. Rather, you have granted me a beautiful night that I shall never, ever forget.' She smiled slightly. 'A leader is rarely ever truly free. And though my restrictions will increase as our little one's advent draws closer, it is a burden I have willingly agreed to carry. I would not have you feel guilt for what has been done, though you have my forgiveness if it would help to assuage the guilt you bear.'
Irezu raised her head as he pulled away, her eyelids growing heavy once more, though she forced herself to remain alert in order to hear how Lazuli would respond to her words.

Lazuli looked quite relieved that Irezu was so forgiving with him. It was, he knew, a quick decision, but hopefully for the best, allowing the child to grow and mature in relative peace.
Thank you, my queen. I am glad you did enjoy it. Understanding that it must have affected you more than myself, I can't imagine your exhaustion. Why don't we sleep the day away in somewhere shady?
He gestured silently to some thick, ancient oaks providing more than sufficient shade not more than thirty metres away.

Irezu smiled. 'It sounds very appealing at the moment.' she responded, trying her best not to sound as sleepy as she felt. She had a feeling her effort was in vain. Still, she was most certainly touched by his concern for her.
She was in the process of fully processing the entirety of his words when a thought occurred to Irezu. She had immensely enjoyed the time spent together not so long ago, but had Lazuli? Had her hesitance to begin ruined things for him? Before more doubts could crowd her mind, Irezu moved closer to the blue stag. 'What of you? Did you enjoy it?'

Nearing the shade, Lazuli dropped to his knees and made a weak attempt to roll before settling comfortably on his side, nickering to Irezu.
Well, certainly, m'love. If not too much, anyhow. Femmes seem to be so much more sensitive to the matter...
Trying to clear his process of the confusing mess, he allowed himself to relax. Regardless of how much he had enjoyed it, he was, indeed, exhausted.

Irezu gracefully knelt and settled alongside Lazuli, reflecting that it would not be too long before such actions would be far less graceful. Likely more difficult too. Still, it was a sacrifice she had been willing to make. She was not about to complain now.
A smile of relief touched the Arab's lips. 'I wouldn't know whether those of my gender are more prone to being more sensitive or not. It is not something I have ever discussed with other faes. Nor something I have reflected upon.'
Wearied, Irezu gently laid her head across Lazuli's shoulders, her eyes drifting closed.

ooc: we'll wrap this thread up and start another...
The day slipped away just as quickly as the night had seemed to. Irezu's last words were lost on the breeze; Lazuli was already far too close to sleep to be able to conjure up a reply decent enough to sound equine. He wasn't sure where the wisdom came from himself-- he hardly knew anything of faes, being the king of a bachelor herd. It must have been something he just picked up from his time spent with Irezu so far.
The shade protected the pair from the sun's burning intensity and lost them in the passing of time. They needed the rest, especially Irezu, who would soon be heavy with foal.
During their slumber, a small butterfly, newly hatched from its cocoon, drifted lazily on the vapors of the atmosphere and was brought to the newly blessed couple. It lighted softly on the dame's shoulder, slowly flexed its bright yellow wings a couple of times as if working a blessing, then fluttered away without hesitation.

Irezu drifted slowly into a peaceful sleep, the warm breeze brushing softly at her mane. She paid it little heed, too close to a deep slumber to take notice. It took very little time for the Arab mare to fall into a deep sleep. The changes at work in her body meant she needed the rest, and now was as good a time to gain it as any.
Her sleep was dreamless, undisturbed by anything that might keep her from a restful sleep. Nor did she feel when the newly-emerged butterfly landed on her shoulder, and was unaware when it departed.
