Just so we have one, here is an advertisement you may use on the boards. It is awful, so feel free to come up with your own! Better yet, reply to this thread with an advertisement of your own! That way people have an opportunity to choose from different advertisements. Be sure to put it all over the place, on any site you go on! -grin- The more members, the better.

For decades the Darks have lived in Opaque, peacefully as far as horse herds go. The lands were large, food and water plentiful. Enjoying the sound and smell of the ocean, they made their homes on the beach and the surrounding fields. For decades they lived this way, until the Lights arrived.
[b]Driven from their homelands due to lack of food, the Lights were forced to leave and migrate to a new home. Upon coming to Opaque, they settled near a waterfall, thinking they could live in this land without a problem. They were wrong.[/b]
Many Darks viewed the newcomers as invaders on their land. What started as hostility progressed to full-scale war. A new side, the Neutrals, were formed, and made their homes in another area of Opaque, surrounding a large cave where they took shelter.
[b]The war progressed for many years. The Neutrals gained new members, while the Darks and Lights continued a fight that started from misunderstandings and an unwillingness to sympathize.[/b]
Finally, a truce was called an a tentative peace formed. It's been this way for three years now, with each side nursing its wounds and thinking hatefully of the other.
[b]Now each side is preparing for the inevitable clash. The Darks and Lights gather more horses for their herds, fiercely protecting the boundaries of their lands. The Neutrals watch, hoping the misunderstanding can be solved, but still forming plans for their own defense should a side turn on them.[/b]
The peace won't last for much longer. Sides must be chosen. Who will you support?

Opaque is a new, semi-literate and up equine RP site. We put a new twist on the old Dark vs. Light plot: Darks aren't all evil, and Lights aren't necessarily good. Stereotypes, assumptions, and misunderstandings are the fuel for this war, and it's only a matter of time before the tension explodes.
Who will you support? The Darks, defending their beautiful homeland from what they feel are invaders? The Lights, struggling to find a place to live after being forced to leave their own? Or the Neutrals, hoping and praying that this senseless war will come to an end?
Only time will tell how this war will end.
