Occuli studied him as his statement was made, bearing into him. For suddenly snofoxx had become irratable and angered inside. Whipcoard slapped the sides of her flanks, ridding them of the insects that bothered her so. Slightly she was nudged by Lazuli, gently and reasuringly. A sigh was realeased from her as she began to think of what to say in their private conversation. It hurts Lazuli, I am not a member from you'r herd...am I not? I would have said no, but it cuts deep into the flesh I hold that you did not ask....not at all. Another deep breath was taken from the mare as she stepped back from him.
I am happy for you Irezu, I really am. She continued stepping back, turned slightly on her hindquarters and walked away from the group. She needed to be alone, to think, to wonder if she made the right decision, but most of all she needed to figure out, was she truely a neutral?

Irezu was mildly relieved when Lazuli eased on expressing so much affection, though she felt embarrassed by her seeming inability to cope with it and apologetic that she could had such difficulty in easily responding as she'd seen other mares do.
She was momentarily surprised by the response of Snofoxx. After an instant of thought, she realized that it was possible that the fact that Snofoxx had not been consulted might have something to do with the situation. Irezu was completely unused to this whole sort of situation, and she had no idea what proper protocols were when the time came for Lord and Lady to bring forth an heir. In her previous two herds, the one she'd been born into and the one she had led for a time, heirs were the offspring of the lead horses no matter whether other mares bore foals for the lead stallion before or after that point or not -- though an heir had been chosen from amongst the young stallions because she had never accepted a stallion to aid her in leading before that time. In spite of her time in Opaque, she hadn't yet discovered whether the same was true here or not.
Though uncomfortable with the whole situation, Irezu was a mistress of remaining outwardly serene and composed. It had helped immensely in diplomatic situations. She only hoped it would work in this instance.
'I am sorry you were not asked before this announcement was made.' she said softly, her soft gaze regretful. Allowing a very small, somewhat wry smile to touch her maw, she added, 'I must admit it was a great surprise to me.' Her expression grew grave once more. 'But that does not excuse me from not having seen to it that you were asked. Forgive me; I advised against bothering you. I fear my meddling has done damage that I wish to take back.'

She watched Irezu intently and quietly from the corner of her eye, her left audit lay back slightly taking in the conversation. As the conversation was directed to Snofoxx she stopped suddenly, not far from the group and faced them. Her audits stood alert upon her cranium, fetlock lightly cascading before her occuli. She stood stead fast as she took in the sweet song of Irezu, her slightly appoligetic smile was cast to Snofoxx.
Then silence...nothing but silence grew in the situation. Snofoxx shook her dished dial from side to side, T'is not your fault Irezu, no t'is not. I should know it is not of an easy project to run the lands and make all the occupants within the lands happy. T'is none of your problems but my own. Do not dwell upon me or my actions. I feel not to be welcomed by the lands here. A slight pause and a deep inhalation was taken in,I feel welcome by the equines of this land, get me not wrong, but the lands, the scream at me to leave, so this I shall... I do not belong a neutral, nor a light. That leaves me but one choice... A slightly angered spark grew in her occuli as she turned upon her haunches once more and continued on the path she had been taking before.
The slow and steady, lengthy strides where taken, they where taking her away from these lands of neither hope nor sorrow. She twisted her cranium towards the group once more, for what would be their reactions to have a dark within their midst?

WAIT!
The stag screamed desperately, sprinting off after the ess. He couldn't let his harem-- or his newest mare-- slip through his hooves just like that. Besides, he needed to know how to deal with this kind of problem, wether or not he could save Snofoxx. And she'd said she didn't belong to a neutral. Or light. That meant she would be dark, living a miserable life in a shadow herd, bearing heavy stags and fighting against Lazuli and Irezu should a war break out. The thought made him kick fifth gear as he hurried to catch up to the Arab.
His well-muscled sinews easily accelerated him after her. He whinnied again, this time just loud enough for her to hear.
Snofoxx! You can't go!

Audits caught the steady beat of the daggers which tore the lands, digging deep trenches into the mother earth. She did not look back nor even acknowledge that the Lord Lazuli was behind her, pleading her to stop, he mind was made up and this would not change. Suddenly she cranked her cranium to the side, along with her hind quarters, twisting to face him. Her occuli a strange look in them, audits laced back and nares flared. Kissers curled back menacingly towards the brute.Lazuli! her voiced cracked as she stood watching him pausing for only a moment before carrying on. I am not who or what you want me to be, nor am I what I wish to become. I am but a troubled vixen taken aback and down the wrong paths. It lies in my blood and pedigree... let it be...just let it be.
Cranium lowered to the earthy floor. A single tear fell from her occuli, falling heavily upon the ground and disappearing forever into it. She stood for a while longer before moving away from Lazuli slightly, awaiting his response.

Lazuli halted quickly, trying to keep instinctive pressure off of the ess.
No, Snofoxx. You can deny your blood. I can't let you do this to yourself.
'Tis but thy blood that is my enemy; Thou art thyself, though not a dark. What's alliance? it is not tongue, nor hoof, Nor leg, nor facade, nor any other part Belonging to an equine.
Snofoxx... don't do this to yourself. Don't you like it here?
His speech complete, Lazuli noticed Snofoxx edgining away again. He moved to retain the same distance between him and her as she moved.
[ooc: gotta love the equine R & J, lol]

At Snofoxx's announcement, Irezu wanted to vehemently protest, yet instinct told her to hold back a little. She allowed Lazuli to make the first response, following at a discreet distance to add her own opinion in when the right opportunity presented itself.
The chestnut Arab was saddened to learn that Snofoxx felt that she did not belong. Listening intently, the Lady could keep silent no longer. Moving slightly closer, she spoke softly.
'Pedigree and blood do not make decisions for us. It is not they who decide our future, nor our destiny. I am not Neutral because I was born that way. My sire and dam were both Light. Yet I chose to take the part of Neutrals. I had reasons for doing so, but it was my choice, not a choice based on pedigree or blood.'
Irezu fell silent, hoping her words might have some positive effect added to what Lazuli had uttered.

Nares flared, exposing the fleshy innards of them. Persperation beginning to show through her pelt. Occuli darted quickly, and audits swiveled lividly taking in ever sound of the speach that Lazuli spoke so passionately about. After he was finished and through Snofoxx laced back her thorns, angrily facing the brute. T'is but my choice, very true! Thus I chose to show my side, the side that has been suppressed. She watched silently as Irezu cam forth, he slender arabic bodice, so similar to her own, yet different. She stood silently, awaiting her speech. They all had speeches so it seemed. But what was it worth?
She stood annoyed and angry, stomping her left hind in irritation of the entire situation. A deep over exagerated sigh left her maw as she retold what Lazuli had just told her. Take no offence of my words, they are the truth, though very nice equines you have been, the lands...they scream! How they scream such bloody rancid scream! It's driving me mad, out upon the edge, upon the edge that one day I will jump from to be a bird flying, falling and grace. She was done with talking, and she spoke with such emotion, her chest heaved as she deeply took in oxygen and expelled carbon dioxide.

Lazuli halted, allowing the ess to escape. She stared straight ahead where she'd disappeared, but spoke to Irezu.
It won't do any good for her, but she has to learn that for herself. There is nothing I can do.
Ripping his gaze from the empty horizon, he turned to Irezu and stepped closer to her, nuzzling her gently.
Call me not a failure, Irezu. I provided a home for her to the best of my ability, but she had to do what she felt she needed to. I don't agree with it, but I am powerless to stop her until she wishes to return.
He paused, meeting Irezu's gaze.
I guess the only thing we can do now is continue on what we were going to do. We have wasted enough time, and I need you, at least, to know that I love you, my queen. Will you accompany me now?

Irezu moved as though to follow the other fae, to try and help Snofoxx to see that here was the best place for her. Lazuli's words halted her though, restraining her from pursuit. She could hear him speaking, but his words did not yet penetrate.
Irezu felt that she had failed. As Lady, she should have anticipated this long before it became a problem and fixed it. Lazuli was Lord, but he was still fairly new at dealing with mares -- which he had told Irezu himself.
Slowly, Lazuli's vocals drew her from grim thoughts. She started ever so slightly at his touch and mentally scolded herself for not paying attention. Delicate pricked ears focused on the blue stud's words. A soft smile touched her maw. 'I do not think you a failure.' she assured him gently. Growing slightly more grim, she added, 'It is I who have failed. I should have noticed this sooner and done something about it. I have done it before, I could have done it again.'
Shaking away her sombre mood with a slight toss of her finely sculpted head, she closed the distance between them just a little more and replaced her frown with a sweet smile. She might have failed Snofoxx, but she had no intention of failing Lazuli now. 'I am ready.' she answered softly, hoping she was successfully concealing the nervousness that threatened.

Lazuli couldn't allow for any of the bitter sadness over the loss of Snofoxx poison the joy of himself and his lady.
Listen, milady-- we did nothing wrong. Snofoxx just needs to find herself. A sad story, but sometimes it just has to be that certain equines must endure pain to find out how much better living in safety is. Worry not-- I won't forget her. I'll keep my gaze peeled in case she ever needs rescuing or wishes to return. For now, we must not focus on what is lost.
He nipped Irezu's wither playfully then groomed along her spine, flicking his tassles side to side. Shaking his mane, he turned and took a couple of steps away. He was glad at least that he'd gotten a smile of Irezu. He didn't want to feel like he was forcing her. He admired her beautiful smile.
Looking back, he nickered to his queen and then broke off into a slow and fluid canter.

Irezu listened quietly to Lazuli and nodded quietly. With the quiet determination characteristic of her personality, she pushed the worries and sorrow over what had occurred with Snofoxx to the back of her mind. She would focus on that another time. For the moment, she had something more pleasant to place her attention upon.
The Arab was about to retaliate to her lord's playful nip, but the gentle touch along her spine halted that action. It helped her to truly relax and a sweet smile grew into one that was truly sincere, rather than an expression to keep Lazuli happy.
Irezu was about to move after Lazuli, but paused an instant. She glanced over her shoulder at Tenga, who seemed to pay attention to nothing yet at the same time see everything. The light grey Arab smiled reassuringly at his half-sister.
'I have only three topics to briefly touch upon.' he said. 'Firstly, you needn't worry about this terra. Nothing will get past me. Secondly, you will be fine. Finally, you'd best hurry or you will be left behind.' The amusement in his gaze at his last sentence drew a playful snort from Irezu. She nipped at her half-brother, then did as he advised. Her gait was smooth and elegant, carrying her swiftly after Lazuli.
