Echo hid a pleased smirk as she waited for the stallion’s answer. This was going to be interesting. Not many a mare could out race the stallions from where Echo was from. There had never been a real need for them to run all that much. But, Echo could be counted in those few numbers.
The gray mare pranced slightly in place with new found energy. She knew that she must look like some sort of love struck yearling, dancing about with the boundless energy only a filly could muster, but at the moment she could truly care less. The odds were agents her now. She had no idea at where the pond was, or how fast this stallion was. Well, if all worked out well her plan would be executed flawlessly and she would easily win.
In other words, she was all but doomed.
“It’s settled then.” Echo nodded to herself more then to Cinnibon as she forced herself to remain still for a moment to speak. Oh how her muscles screamed at her to run, run as hard and fast as she could.
“I believe it would only be right if you were to go first. This is your territory after all.” The gray mare said smoothly as she lightly pawed the earth in anticipation of the run. Normally once the stallion had agreed Echo would have been off, running blindly in hopes of reaching the pond, even if she had no idea where she was going…But for one reason or another she decided to do this with grace. Maybe show off a little. Yes, that would be quite enjoyable. Holding her tail high while running, or maybe just running all out. Oh the choices…Uhh! First she had to see how fast this stallion was. Showing off later, assessing the situation was now.

Cinnabon pranced in place, lifting his tail so it flowed gracefully in the wind. Oh, the beauty of an Arab. The gracefullness and speed. What wonde-wait a minute! Duh! Cinnabon shook his head. He had been so stupid!
Arab horses were born to run. To race. To feel the glory of winning.
"The race will start over here," he said as he lead the way into the small shadows of a hill. "I'll give you one hint about the pond. It takes a little while to get there, and there are plenty twists and turns to make, or you won't get there since there is a small alcove around it. But don't worry, it'll be worth it."
Cinnabon quirked an eyebrow as much as a horse could. Maybe he would win. His muscles twitched under his pelt, urging him to gallop with all of his might. But he would play fair to Echo. He wanted to show her that he could be a good and fair lead stallion.
Cinnabon's gaze seemed to run now, visualizing the exact route to the pond with all of its twists and turns. The stallion stamped a hoof. "You ready? ....Go!"
And the stallion was off. He moved quickly yet gracefully, his mane and tail flowing like wild banners in a gale. His muscles rippled under his shiny pelt. His legs stretched forward and tucked under him as he galloped, moving like he never had before. Cinnabon never knew he could run so fast! He snorted and tossed his head, showing off a little. Here came the first turn.
Cinnabon twisted his body, turning sharply to avoid a medium rock jutting up from the ground. He galloped around a hill and down into a valley...(Continued, but I'll let you post next)
